The Problem

As the North West and North Wales' largest quartz and granite worktop supplier, Prestige Granite & Marble holds significant volumes of stone at any given time. The problem was that nobody had a clear, centralised picture of what they actually had. When shipments arrived, staff would count the slabs manually and record totals on paper or in WhatsApp messages. There was no visibility into what was on hand, what was on order, what was moving quickly, or when stock was likely to run low. Purchasing decisions were made on instinct rather than data, and the risk of over-ordering or running short on popular materials was constant.

What We Built

We designed and built a bespoke stock management system from the ground up. Warehouse staff now scan items in using QR code and barcode scanners as shipments arrive, logging stock into a centralised digital inventory in real time. The system supports manual overrides and corrections where needed, so the team can adjust quantities without disrupting the wider data. A comprehensive analytics dashboard tracks which materials move fastest, monitors current stock levels across all product lines, and calculates reorder points based on historical usage patterns. When stock reaches a threshold, the system automatically emails the sales department, prompting timely reorders before shortages affect production schedules.

The Outcome

The transformation has been significant. Prestige now has complete, real-time visibility over their entire inventory for the first time. Purchasing decisions are driven by data rather than guesswork, stock discrepancies have been virtually eliminated, and the sales team is alerted to reorder needs before they become problems. The time previously spent on manual stocktaking, cross-referencing paper records, and chasing information through WhatsApp has been redirected into productive, revenue-generating work.

This project, alongside the automated customer communications system we built for Prestige, demonstrates how bespoke software can systematically remove operational bottlenecks from a business. Each system we've delivered solves a specific, costly problem --- and together, they've fundamentally modernised how Prestige operates behind the scenes.
