AIM (Adoption in Merseyside) - Early Permanence Campaign

We were commissioned by AIM on behalf of all North West councils to address a critical issue: adoption uptake through the early permanence route was significantly lower than the number of children who needed homes, largely due to perceived risks and a lack of understanding.

The Brief

We were commissioned by AIM on behalf of all North West councils to address a critical issue: adoption uptake through the early permanence route was significantly lower than the number of children who needed homes, largely due to perceived risks and a lack of understanding.

Our Approach

This project required exceptional soft skills. Our founder, Stephen Brookes, delivered this project personally --- having been through IVF with his first child, he felt emotionally and professionally equipped to create the safe, empathetic environment needed to get the best from families sharing deeply personal stories on camera.

What We Produced

We worked with four families from vastly different backgrounds --- a Bangladeshi couple adopting their second child, a couple who had been through cancer treatment, a single mother, and a same-sex couple. The resulting content explains early permanence from real perspectives, addresses genuine fears, and speaks to a wide demographic of potential adopters.

The Outcome

As of May 2026, this campaign is live across all North West council channels. This project demonstrates that our value goes far beyond technical production --- it's the strategic questioning, the emotional intelligence, and the ability to make people feel comfortable enough to share their truth on camera.
